AbslomRob's Watch Collection

If you're observant, you'll notice that I list this as a 19 Jewel watch, but the train bridge in the movement shot claims 17. If you're really observant, you'll also notice that it says "Jeweled Mainwheel", which is where the other two jewels are. I'm not sure why they wouldn't have stated 19 on the train, but the production year might be a clue. Waltham suffered through a 5 month general strike that ended in the beginning of 1926, and CEO Dumaine was implementing extensive cost-cutting measures across the company, so this might have been overlooked, or it might have been a desire to avoid spending money reseting the engravers.

The damasking on this watch is quite distinctive compared to the more circular design of most of my Walthams. The bow is fairly stiff, and there's only one watchmaker entry inside the case back, suggesting that this watch didn't see a lot of use.
